Our lives can be ‘bonded’ together. (Picture two items bonded with glue)

‘And above all these things put on charity (love) which is the bond of perfectness’ (Colossians 3:14)

This Greek word used several times in the New Testament is sundesmos {soon’-des-mos}

1) that which binds together, a band, bond of ligaments by which the members of the human body are united together

2) that which is bound together, a bundle

We can be joined to statues and 'sacred pictures'. In fact to anything we 'idolize'

That's why scripture is so unrelenting in this area.   

Statues or images of any form, used in any way, for any aspect of spiritual worship are - in scripture - always treated as an anathema to God.  

Even in the ten commandments the clear instruction is there.. You shall not make for yourself a carved image - any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.  You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.   (Exodus 20:4-5)

When people give 'reverence' to an image in any shape or form, or talk to it, or place flowers at the base of it, or rub its feet, or bow before it, or pray to God through it, or to the person the statue represents, then know for certain that powers of darkness will attach themselves to that plaster cast figure or picture and lock the person to it. They will be joined to that lifeless image which is being idol-ized. That is why, for instance,  the thought of breaking a plaster and paint model used in such a manner is unthinkable to them. It is no longer neutral material because they have invested something of themselves into it.

  Israel joined himself to Baalpeor (a Moab idol) and the anger of the Lord was kindled against  Israel (Numbers 25:3)        

 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor and ate sacrifices of the dead. (Psalm 106:28)

  Ephraim is joined to idols. Let him alone.. (Hosea 4:17)

We are created even to be so ‘joined’ or ‘bonded’, or ‘bound up’ or ‘knit together’ that we become what the Bible calls ‘one flesh’.

‘Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall become one flesh’  (Genesis 2:24)

For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ (Ephesians 5: 31)    (‘joined’ in Greek = cleave, to stick to, glue, cement)

This powerful 'one flesh' bonding applies to all sexual intercourse, which is why 'the god of this world' promotes casual sexual relationships. Hence Paul writes to the Christians.

Know ye not that he, which is joined to a harlot, is one body' for two saith He shall become one flesh (1st Corinthians 6:16)  

In other words the two individuals could be miles apart physically yet mysteriously they are joined together as one in the unseen realms. Their souls are tied.

C .S.Lewis in his famous book 'The Screwtape letters' (1942) deals with this issue.

(Note: for those who have not read the book it is an imaginary set of letters written by  a worldly wise old devil called 'screwtape' to his nephew called 'wormwood'. Their enemy is God and Screwtape continually advises wormwood how to bring the enemy's beloved family (us) into bondage)  The following brief extract is taken from page 95 (any words in brackets are mine)

'Now comes the joke. The enemy (God) described a married couple as 'one flesh'. He did not say a 'happily married couple' or 'a couple who married because they were in love', but you can make the humans ignore that. You can also make them forget that the man they call Paul did not confine it to married couples. Mere copulation, for him, makes 'one flesh'. You can thus get the humans to accept as rhetorical eulogies of 'being in love' what were in fact plain descriptions of the real significance of sexual intercourse. The truth is that wherever a man lies with a woman, there whether they like it or not, a transcendental relation is set up between them which must be eternally enjoyed or eternally endured..'

God's wonderful design was that two virgins, one male and one female, would leave their mother and father and cleave to one another for life. 

The marriage consummation would involve the male breaking the female 'hymen' upon the first entry resulting in a little blood being shed thus signifying that they had now entered into a powerful blood covenant. 

One can thus see how today's casual sex with opposite sex and same sex has tied us into innumerable 'one flesh' ties with people who are tied into an ungodly network of innumerable 'one flesh ties'. An ungodly network available to the powers of darkness. 

 Sin is not harmful because it is forbidden, it is forbidden because it is harmful.

People who masturbate over pornographic pictures and films quickly become 'locked into' this secretive behaviour because when a person lusts after (i.e.' fantasizes' about having sexual intercourse with) another person they have in fact committed 'adultery' with them in their hearts. They have strongly focused upon this person and sought to sexually bond with this other person in their imagination thus giving the powers of darkness a legal right to attach themselves to that imagined figure or figures. The powers of darkness are just as happy to attach themselves to such imaginary photographic images just as they are to attach themselves to idols (as already mentioned above)

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:28)

We are created by God to be capable of this deep level of bonding 

‘The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him’ (1st Corinthians 6:17)

‘At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father and you in Me, and I in you’ (John 14:20)

The ultimate example of 'oneness' between two persons is Jesus and His Father. Jesus said 

"I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me." John 14:10 "I and the Father are one," He said". (John 10:30)

Ungodly grief leads to unbroken soul ties with the dead.

We are to release the dead to Jesus. The Bible pattern for mourning is that it be limited to several days (see Genesis 50:10 & Deuteronomy 34:8) The funeral service is designed to ‘commit our loved ones to God’ and natural grieving is right, respectful and healthy.

Prolonged refusal to let death do us part invites spirits of sorrow, grief, loneliness etc to take advantage of this unblessable behaviour. Applies especially to stillborn babies or miscarriages where often there is no funeral service, thus no release mechanism available.

Important: Everything God created He created for good purposes. 

Satan cannot create new spiritual principles and so he can only use existing principles. 

Hence - as already quoted - Paul writes to the Christians.

‘Know ye not that he, which is joined to a harlot, is one body' for two saith He, shall become one flesh’ (1st Corinthians 6:16)

Therefore this ‘knitting’ or ‘bonding’ or ‘binding’ or ‘yoking’ or ‘joining’ or the ‘one flesh’ ties that we are created to be capable of, can and does work both ways.

Satanists and witches ab-use these joining’s for satan’s wicked purposes. Jesus told us that we should be ‘wise as serpents’ (Matthew 10:16) i.e. know what the serpent is up to, and by which means he is up to it. 

Paul said that ‘we are not ignorant of the devil’s schemes' (2 Corinthians 2:11) - but sadly we have been disobedient to Jesus’ instruction and so we are ignorant of his schemes.

In many cases it has taken Jesus to bring people out from these evil groups into His Kingdom as trophies of grace and to make us ‘wise as serpents’

The reason all initiates have sex with the high priest / priestess immediately upon joining a group is not for sexual gratification. The high priest / priestess has the dominant demonic within them and the one flesh link up achieved through sexual intercourse enables them to begin exercising total control over the group.

In her book ‘Dance with the devil’ Audrey Harper describes how several weeks after her initiation evening (where she was ritually raped by the warlock) ‘a voice in her head’ told her where and when to go to for the second meeting. Other than to make the point of the reality of soul ties these notes are not the place to discuss all the ways that the enemy has of influencing people through the ungodly use of these ‘soul ties’ or ‘people ties’.

It is important to note that when someone submits to an occult practitioner even once (such as a seaside fortune teller) they are in fact submitting themselves to the spirit that works through that 'anointed' occult practitioner. That spirit will have access to them long after they walk away from the practitioner. This applies when one submits to receive from any 'guru' or New Age practitioner. We need to be 'loosed' from these ungodly ties. [see sample prayer at end of this teaching]

We are to spiritually receive from God's anointed, not 'the enemy's anointed!

This is why we are to be severed from ungodly yokings with unrighteousness, with darkness, with Belial.

Let us read these words from God again from 2nd Corinthians chapter 6..

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness' and what communion hath light with darkness' And what concord hath Christ with Belial' or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel' And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols' for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you,

Important though to know that for these evil occult groups - as with the Mafia, many uncivilized tribes today, and all ancient civilizations the blood tie is the strongest tie. 

Hence they will eat flesh with the blood in it or drink blood. From scripture we see why. Blood is mentioned 321 times in the Old Testament alone. 

The core understanding being that the life of the person or the animal is in the blood. e.g. Leviticus 17:14

For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood

There is also the case of certain types of demon known popularly as ‘incubus’ and ‘succubus’ spirits that actually have sex with people during the night. 

They are primarily described in dictionaries as

incubus a male demon believed to lie on sleeping persons and to have sexual intercourse with sleeping women. A nightmare. An oppressive or nightmarish burden.
