Secrecy

Freemasonry describes itself as ‘a society with secrets’   Its members are ‘admitted into its mysteries’  They swear on oath not to..

  ‘write those secrets, indite, carve, mark, engrave, or otherwise delineate, or cause or suffer it to be so done by others if it is in my powers to prevent it, on anything movable or immovable, under the canopy of Heaven, whereby or wheron any letter, character or figure, may become legible, or intelligible to myself or anyone in the world, so that our secret arts and hidden mysteries may improperly become known through my unworthiness..’

Yet Jesus said..

"I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing”.  John 18:20

"No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light”.  Luke 11: 33

"For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light”  Luke 8:17

Masonry makes much show of its charitable deeds. Yet Jesus said that charitable deeds should be done in secret.

"that your charitable deed may be in secret..'  Matthew 6:4

Abomination in the temple

In Ezekiel chapter 8:13 - 16 we read of where God takes the prophet Ezekiel on a spiritual tour of the temple.  On this tour God shows him abomination after abomination. Each time God tells him that there are even greater abominations than these. Finally God brings him to the worst abomination going on within His temple. Twenty five men facing east (as per every Masonic temple) worshipping the sun towards the east.

And He said to me, "Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing." So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the Lord’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.

Then He said to me, "Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these." So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.

Spiritual mixtures.

God hates spiritual mixtures.  In the old testament (Leviticus 19:19 God gives us a physical model of this .

You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

And then in the New Testament (2nd Corinthians 6:14-18) He gives us the spiritual command in full .

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?  And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

"I will dwell in them and walk among them.

I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

             Therefore "Come out from among them

And be separate, says the Lord.

Do not touch what is unclean,

And I will receive you."

I will be a Father to you,

And you shall be My sons and daughters,

Says the Lord Almighty."

Foreign apparel

Not only does God hate those who claim allegiance to Him while involved in pagan practices, but He also hates their regalia - the 'foreign apparel' - associated with spiritual adultery.

Zephaniah 1: 4 - 8

"I will stretch out My hand against Judah,

And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place,

The names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests

Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops;

Those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord,

But who also swear by Milcom;

Those who have turned back from following the Lord,

And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him."

Be silent in the presence of the Lord God;

For the day of the Lord is at hand,

For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice;

He has invited His guests.

And it shall be,

In the day of the Lord’s sacrifice,

That I will punish the princes and the king’s children,

And all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.

Jealous God

God makes it clear again and again that He will not tolerate any involvement of His people with other gods'  He is jealous for our affections.

For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God  Exodus 34:14

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God  Deuteronomy 4:24

For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,  Exodus 20:5 + Deuteronomy 5:9

You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.  Deuteronomy 6:14

Ungodly oaths

When agreeing to do, or not to do something, God tells us to simply let our yes be yes and our no be no.  To swear agreement - in any shape or form - to a severe physical punishment if we consequently break that agreement is contrary to the counsel of Jesus, emanates only from the evil one, and ignoring this will bring us under God's judgment..  Matthew 5:34-37 and James 5:12

But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes," be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest you fall into judgment.

Accursed objects defile the home

Bringing accursed items - that is items associated with any spiritual activity that God cannot and therefore will not bless - defiles the home spiritually and gives legal rights to our spiritual enemies. In Deuteronomy 23:9-14 God gives us a graphic illustration using human excrement in the camp as a warning to His people that if He sees anything in our camp that is unclean He will turn away and this turning away will give enemies victory in our camp.

When the army goes out against your enemies, then keep yourself from every wicked thing. If there is any man among you who becomes unclean by some occurrence in the night, then he shall go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp. But it shall be, when evening comes, that he shall wash with water; and when the sun sets, he may come into the camp. Also you shall have a place outside the camp, where you may go out; and you shall have an implement among your equipment, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and turn and cover your refuse. For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.

Deuteronomy 7: 26 tells us clearly that if we do bring an un-blessable item - and therefore a cursed item - into our home then the curse comes in with the item.

Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.

This is powerfully illustrated in Joshua chapter 6: 18 where Joshua gives God's people this clear instruction..

And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it

This warning was not heeded and the enemies easily defeated God's people.  When Joshua asked the Lord why they were defeated He was told it was because accursed things were in the camp. Joshua 7:12-13

Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you. Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: "There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you
