Sin.

Sin kills everything good.

It takes no prisoners. It just kills everything.

It kills trust. It kills relationships. It kills marriages.

It brings nations into deep, deep moral darkness.

It starts arguments. It starts fights. It starts wars.

It brings anger, malice, hatred and bitterness.

It empties purses and fills jails.

It promises pleasure but brings pain.
Sometimes immediately. Sometimes later. Sometimes a generation away.

It addicts people to alcohol, drugs, sex and gambling.

It brings shame and guilt.

It produces thieves, liars, occultists, adulterers and perverts.

It thrives on pornography, dishonesty and unfaithfulness.

It produces one parent families, broken homes and wounded people.

It kills babies in the womb and young men in the streets.

It feeds crime. And gangs.

It bullies, violates, abuses, dominates, manipulates and controls.

It brings fear. Terrible relentless fear to the old, the weak and the vulnerable.
And to parents. And to children.

It sears consciences.

It defiles. It pollutes.

It imprisons its captives in darkness and blinds their eyes to the Light.

It separates man from the One who truly loves him

Sin promises to be a secret friend but becomes a cruel master.

As flies are attracted to dog's dirt so unclean spirits are attracted to sin.

Sin originated through Adam's disobedience to God and his submission to the serpent's subtle suggestions, and has thus continued to this day. Obedience brings us safely into submission to the Sovereignty and Lordship of Jesus while sin brings us dangerously into submission to the serpent and his rule.

Can you see why no sin will ever be permitted into Heaven?

Can you see why God - in whose presence the angels shout "Holy Holy Holy" - can have no compromise with it?

Can you see why the devil loves it? It grieves the heart of God because it destroys those made in God's image. [a]

It grieves, and even quenches the Spirit of God in a man or woman.

The cross stands in defiance of sin's relentless, tsunami-like, worldwide onslaught.

It shouts 'Forgiveness!"  It shouts "Freedom"

It stands as a table prepared for us in the midst of the cruellest of enemies.

With an invitation banner over the table saying LOVE.

The cross demands our response.

Not a luke-warm response. Sin laughs at such.

It demands a turn around and a bowing of the knee to the One who came to rescue.

It demands a Christ centred, Blood cleansed, Spirit filled life of obedience to the One who leads us safely on paths of righteousness.

God in, devil out.

That's it.
